Who We Are
Snug Projects is an architecture and development company based in Winchester, Hampshire. We are committed to the creative and appropriate redevelopment of latent land. We specialise in identifying development opportunities and realising their potential. We work with clients to create, re-form and add value to the built environment, aiming to consistently deliver solutions that exceed expectations. Our experience is particularly in residential architecture, property development and educational consultancy on all aspects of the built environment.
Why Snug?
The name Snug Projects was chosen because of our interest and expertise in making the most creative use of small urban sites. We believe that space is one of our most precious resources. It can and should be used creatively. The word snug conveys the positive associations that we seek to achieve in our designs.
Definitions of snug:
- fitting closely but comfortably; "a snug fit"
- well and tightly constructed; "a snug house"; "a snug little sailboat"
- cosy: enjoying or affording comforting warmth and shelter, especially in a small space; "a cosy nook near the fire"; "snug in bed"; "a snug little apartment"

Thoughts on 'home'
Home is a special place because we are special. We each long for a place to call home, a dwelling place where we belong. When we think of home we may not think of where we live. This is a sad reflection of so much of what today, is called property. Our ideal home may be a place imagined or a warm but distant memory. If that is the case something can and should be done. Architecture offers the potential to change the spaces in and around us, and in so doing, transform a house into a home. Some of us may have the privilege of building a new house. For those who do, it is a responsibility to create somewhere with potential, a special place that will stir the depths of our emotions today, a place in which we find ourselves at home. It is our privilege to help you realise that potential.
'Home is a place'
Home is a place to grow up
and a place to grow old,
a place to play and
a place to work,
a place to rest and to caress,
a place to argue and to make peace,
to be alone and together,
a place to ponder and to act,
a place to receive and shut out,
to store and to share,
to turn it up and to turn it off,
a place to chat and
a place to chill,
a place for life and
a place that remains.
